The tragic news came in an unexpected statement, explaining Bryan had passed away on August 5, 2023.

His family announced: “It is with great sadness that we share that on Aug. 5, Bryan Randall passed away peacefully after a three-year battle with ALS.

“Bryan chose early to keep his journey with ALS private, and those of us who cared for him did our best to honor his request.”

They further said: “We are immensely grateful to the tireless doctors who navigated the landscape of this illness with us and to the astounding nurses who became our roommates, often sacrificing their own families to be with ours.

“At this time, we ask for privacy to grieve and to come to terms with the impossibility of saying goodbye to Bryan.”

The Hollywood star herself has not spoken out personally since the tragic news of his death.

The actor, who has taken home several gongs at award shows throughout her esteemed career, is known for being private about her personal life.

ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells found in the spinal cord and brain, reports ALS Association.

It’s been since revealed Sandra was Bryan’s caretaker and “assembled” a team of health care professionals to help him.

Sandra Bullock’s sister breaks silence to pay tribute to star’s boyfriend

Sandra’s sister, Gesine Bullock-Prado paid tribute to Bryan on Monday night.

She penned: “I’m convinced that Bry has found the best fishing spot in heaven and is already casting his lure into rushing rivers teaming with salmon,” her caption began.

“ALS is a cruel disease but there is some comfort in knowing he had the best of caretakers in my amazing sister and the band of nurses she assembled who helped her look after him in their home. Rest in peace, Bryan.”

She then asked for donations to Massachusetts General Hospital and the ALS Association in his memory.

“It’s just shocking”

A friend of the snapper told the US Sun they were in “shock” over the news.

Mia St John, mom of Bryan’s ex partner Paris, said: “I’m just very sorry and in shock because I didn’t know he was sick.”

She continued that most people outside his inner circle were finding out about his tragic death from ALS in the news “just like everyone else”. This further shows Bryan and his family chose to deal with the rare disease privately.

Bryan, 57, and only two years younger than the Heat star was with Sandra for eight years.

Although he would attend some Red Carpet events with the actress, he shied away from the limelight.
